Guide Me Sweet Jesus by Olga Marie & Roger Fedyk
Resident husband and wife songwriting team, Roger and Olga Marie Fedyk have worked on our latest album.
With Roger providing lead vocals, except for If I Can Only Touch His Cloak, and playing all instruments we are proud of the 10 tracks that have been produced.
Olga Marie had this to say about her first professional songwriting assignment:
"Hi, my name is Olga Marie but everyone knows me as Susie. These are some of my personal prayers that I pray, most every day. Sometime ago, I started writing down my prayers and thoughts.
Roger has put these to music. I ask the Lord every day, "Guide Me Sweet Jesus". Inspirations for songs can come anywhere at anytime. We were at Wilson’s Promontory and I was sitting on Mt.Oberon looking out over God’s creation when I was inspired to write What A Beautiful Place. And it truly is a beautiful world that God has made.
Our good friend Leesa Horrigan sings If I Can Only Touch His Cloak. This song is based on Matthew 9:20 and is the story of the woman who suffered with a hemorrhage for 12 years and who believed in the Lord’s healing power. The topic was originally suggested by a Nashville record producer.
Our love of the Lord has given me the gift of these words and Roger the gift of music. My words come at any time and our home is full of bits of paper with finished and unfinished pieces of songs. I hope you experience the Lord’s gift through these songs and that they touch you in a healing way"
Roger had this to add:
"I have been given a rare opportunity to connect my love of music performance and composition with the talented and insightful words written by my wife.
I was a professional musician and singer for 7 years in my 20’s and I was heavily involved in recording and performance both live, on record and on television.
We were introduced to the joys of music ministry with the Sacre Coeur Prayer Group in the early 80’s before leaving Australia in 1986 to pursue business opportunities. Since returning to Melbourne in 2005, I have rediscovered my love for Christian Contemporary and Gospel music.
Like many things that come from God, our growing ministry came by accident and has responded to loving nurturing. I hope that our love and passion for writing songs brings you joy"

The Lyrics & Notes
Guide Me Sweet Jesus A daily prayer for all of us. This is done in a soft rock rock style and features an interesting soprano sax solo.

| If I Can Only Touch His Cloak: Leesa Horrigan
Based on Matthew 9:20, this song features a strong vocal performance from Leesa. The story of the woman who suffered with a hemorrhage for 12 years is not often told. However, it has strking features in the interaction between Jesus and the woman and her absolute and ultimately triumphant belief that she will be cured. The song starts in a muted mode with guitar and lonely trumpet and becomes stronger as more intruments and voices are added.

Perfect Timing We are often impatient in our prayer petitions to the Lord. Life can heap innumerable pressures on us and often only God's action can bring us relief. This song reminds us that we must wait for God's time. His answer will be perfect. This is a strong old-time rock'n'roll song.
|
Father, Dear Father In this song we present our heartfelt affirmation of God's presence. We also acknowledge our own frailty and reliance on the Lord. This anthem-style song is presented in two parts with a full instrumental first part replaced by a quiet and introspecful closing.
|
I Need You Lord In our prayers we must acknowledge our total reliance on God's goodness. This song provides another way to look at this. The arrangement features a fusion of funk and Carribean with West African-style guitar riffs.

I Understand During her nursing career in London, Olga Marie worked with a number of people who were in the last stages of their life. The quiet dignity of one man in particular has stayed with her for all these years. We all have to grapple with suffering and pain. In this effort we can meet the Lord. The words of this song express this sentiment beautifully.
|
I Thought Of You Today Lord This simple song says something that we can sometimes forget, namely that the Lord is a member of our immediate family. It is good that we acknowledge this familial closeness by letting Him know that He is in our thoughts.
|
Thank You Jesus This is a simple and joyous song that is presented in a unique way musically. It features Brazilian rhythms with trumpet and accordion providing the lead lines.
|
Wilsons Promontory (What A Beautiful Place) It was while sitting on Mt Oberon in the Wilsons Promontory National Park that Olga Marie was inspired to write this beautiful song. It is presented simply with minimum instruments.
|
You Are My Lord We really enjoyed recording this Country Rock song. The words honor God and the music gets your foot tapping. The guitars are complemented by a mouth organ solo followed by a Jerry Lee Lewis piano impersonation.
